Beekeeping is better with community behind you.
Whether you're just curious about getting your first hive or you've been keeping bees for years, the Pierce County Beekeepers Association has something for you. For over 50 years, we've been connecting beekeepers across the region — sharing knowledge, rolling up our sleeves together, and making sure no one has to figure this out alone.
When you become a member, you're not just joining a club. You're gaining a community that's with you through every season.

Learn from the best. Access certified beginner and apprentice beekeeping classes through the Washington State Beekeepers Association program and the OSU Master Beekeepers Educational Program, plus ongoing education through club meetings, videos, workshops, apiary days and local resources.
Get hands-on experience. Join us at our PCBA Apiary Days — a chance to work real hives alongside experienced beekeepers in a supportive, low-pressure environment. There's no better classroom than the apiary itself.
Have a mentor in your corner. New to beekeeping? Get connected with an experienced mentor who can help you navigate the challenges, answer your questions, and build your confidence hive by hive.
Come together every month. Monthly meetings keep you connected to the community, up to date on what's happening locally, and in the loop through our member newsletter.
Access professional harvest equipment. Rent the PCBA Honey House and take advantage of our 18-frame extractor, heated honey bottling tank, and speed bottle filler — everything you need for a smooth harvest. Prefer to work from home? Two smaller extractors are available to rent and take with you.

Tap into a full library of resources. From books and magazines to beekeeping laws, hive registration guidance, colony inspection worksheets, and a list of local bee suppliers — it's all at your fingertips.

Need a swarm removed? Want to catch swarms? Members have access to our swarm removal network, as well as access to our swarm list to catch swarms, connecting the community with experienced beekeepers ready to help.

Find your people. Join a Community Cluster — a small local group of beekeepers near you — and build the kind of neighborly connections that make beekeeping more fun and more sustainable year after year.

Membership is open to all levels, all backgrounds, and all levels of commitment. From brand new beekeeper to seasoned pro — you have a place at our table.
