GENERAL MEETINGS

General Meetings are held at the Allmendinger Center – WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Facility, the first Monday of every month, at 7pm and are open to existing and prospective members.

BEGINNING BEEKEEPING CLASSES

The PCBA offers “Introduction to Beekeeping” classes to all its members. Classes are held year-round on the first Monday of the month at 6pm.  We follow the OSU Master Beekeeping program and utilize The Beekeepers Handbook. In addition to classroom training, you will also have the opportunity to receive hands-on experience with expert beekeepers in our Apiary from March – October. Apiary Days are weather dependent and we are working on a new schedule, hoping for twice a month through 2023.

APIARY DAYS

Apiary Days are weather dependent and we are working on a new schedule through 2023. These Saturdays will vary depending on the availability of our Mentors. Bring your bee gear and your questions as we inspect our Education Apiary on the south side of the campus. If weather doesn’t permit inspections we will update our Facebook Page the morning of. Make sure to check the Facebook Page before heading out!

OSU MASTER BEEKEEPING CLASSES

PCBA has partnered with OSU for their Master Beekeeping Program and are excited to invite members to join the Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master programs. There are several ways to participate. Our PCBA program locally supports OMB participants with in-house lectures and hands on beekeeping in our Apiary.  We meet on the WSU campus at the Allmendinger Center on the very south end of the campus. If you can’t make the meetings you can still participate in the OSU/OMB online recorded sessions to meet your first year requirements.

Please visit the OMB webpage for additional information or to sign up. https://mb.extension.oregonstate.edu/
