Beginning Beekeeping Classes & Apprentice Certificate Program

PCBA Beginning Beekeeping Classes

The PCBA offers its “Introduction to Beekeeping” classes to its members. You can start classes at any time. We follow the OSU Master Beekeeping program and utilize The Beekeepers Handbook. Class cost is $75.00 and includes your “Beekeeper’s Handbook”. In addition to classroom training, you can also get “hands on” experience in our Apiary from March through October with experienced beekeepers. Apiary days are the 3rd Saturday of the month. Start times will be weather dependent but usually around 12:00 p.m. Check the main page for updates.

Classes are held year round on the first Monday of the month from 6:15PM to 7:15PM at the Allmendinger Building on the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Campus near downtown Puyallup, WA. General meetings are held afterwards from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Please see class schedule below for updates.

To join PCBA, just come to any class or Join PCBA Online Today. PCBA Membership Dues are $50 for new members and then are $30 a year for individuals and families in the same household. Existing members pay only $30.00 per year. Renewal memberships are due October 1st and are prorated. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards at all classes and meetings.

There will be no classes in the following months: July (due to Annual BBQ Picnic), September (due to WA State Fair), and December (due to Holiday Party).
